Impro Sundae
Impro Sundae is The Crew’s phenomenally successful two-hour impro comedy show, currently running fortnightly at Bar Open in Fitzroy on Sunday afternoons. (Check the line-ups page for dates and performer listings.)
Comprising two halves and encompassing a variety of improvisational formats, both short form games and longer multiple scene stories, The Crew’s improvisers create everything through stagecraft and imagination, and sometimes musical performances incorporating multiple musicians. Impro Sundae is The Crew at its best, whether taking the audience on a 30 minute spontaneous spin based solely on the word “sausage” or creating a reggae song using the title “The Intern Turned Me In”.
Impro Sundae was Australia’s longest running weekly impro show when it finished it’s run of over six years at North Melbourne’s Comic’s Lounge in May 2007. It moved to a fortnightly slot at Bar Open in Fitzroy for around six months before finding its current home at the Bella Union bar at Trades Hall, the heart of Comedy @ Trades. It is now performed on the second and fourth Sunday of each month.
