Melbourne International Comedy Festival

UPDATE: We’ve received our first review for the festival of 2006 , and a very positive one it is too. Head on over to The Pun to check it out!
The Crew started performing together during the 2001 Melbourne International Comedy Festival, and have performed weekly ever since, officially participating in the festival from 2002-2004. It was during the 2004 festival that the second season of Instant TV was filmed. The Crew performed their regular weekly Impro Sundae show during the 2005 festival, using the massive influx of talented interstate comics to invite lots of special guests to get up and play with them.
Now 2006 is upon us like a sieve full of angry hamsters, and it’s time to lay down the smack and… hit the mack-daddy who… no, wait, it’s time to… tug the monstrous… teat of… the… malevolent… dutch… wig.
REGARDLESS! 2006 brings new shows, and a new format - INSTANT MUSICAL ODYSSEY! A whole show of musical madness where we take your suggestions and hammer them into a cogent narrative. WITH OUR MINDS! YES, WE HAVE MIND-HAMMERS. Be amazed, be amused, sit in stunned disbelief as you choose the characters and we do the rest. Every show is different, with special guests and all the smokin’ regulars.
To check it out, head to Glitch Bar, 318 St. George’s Road, North Fitzroy, on the Fridays the 14th, 21st, and 28th of April, and the 5th of May at 10 PM. Tickets are $15 available by calling Glitch on 03 9489 9799, or at the door.
ALSO! The immortal Impro Sundae has returned. On the Sundays the 16th, 23rd and 30th of April and 7th of May, come down to the Comics Lounge (26 Errol St, North Melbourne) at 8pm, and see why Impro Sundae is Australia’s longest running improvised comedy show. Just $15 entry for two hours of outstanding mayhem.
